I had them, I replaced them w/ the Adjustable ones from StangSuspensions. They were good, I still have them.I will sell them to you if you want them. They are in good condition, but they need new bushings. PM me if interested.

i have em there pretty good.

1. get to take off the quad shocks.
2.i can mash it in first and get very little wheel spin.
3. greasable so they are less prone to failure.

might be dumb question but why would you want to take off the quad shock.

I agree. Why would you?

I mean if you want to you can take off the quad shocks with the factory UCA and LCA. The quad shocksare there to minimize wheel hopthat is created by a less than perfect design of locating the driveshaft. While changing the CAs only makes up for less than perfect CA design it doesn't do anything to correct for the first problem. In order to do fix the location problem you need thing like panhard bars or a watts link.

actually the wheel hop you would experience if you took the quad shocks off with the stock control arms could be more contributed to the deflection of the rubber. urethane eliminates most deflection hence the loss of need for the quad shocks .

a panhard bar only locates the rear side to side. i believe you mean a torque arm would be better as it would eliminate fluctuations in pinion angle.

you are right, the torque arm would be the best. The problem of wheel hop is primarily with the UCA.These arewhat allows the changing of the pinion angle while the load changes thus creating wheel hop.

The most common reason for removing the quad shock is to allow you to run a bigger/wider tire/rim combo. This seems to be more of a problem on 96-98 cars than the 99-04 cars, since I am running a 10.5 w/ 315 tires and am nowhere close to rubbing. It could also be caused by improper backspacing on the rims.

Other than that, and the 2~ pounds of weight, I see no reason to remove the quad shocks. I left mine on even after the CA install.
