i heard rumours of the 94-95 gt out running the 96-98 because of the torque from the 302 but i dont know if thats true or not. Regardless the 302 is a lot better platform for modding because of the huge aftermarket and the price is wayyyyyyyy better. But if you want a better sounding car thats newer go with the 96-98

I had a 95 GT 302 5 spd. I have a friend with a 98 GT 5spd. He has exhaust, cold air, ud pulleys, trick flow upper intake, 70mm THrottle body, and mass air. I had cold air exhaust and ud pulleys. From a stop i would pull about 2 cars onhimuntil we hit third then it stayed same. From a 3rd gear roll it was pretty much dead even. So it seems the 302 hasa little more torque and responds better to mods.
