Need some education: Fuel System
I have been struggling with this for a while. Can someone explain to me exactly how the fuel system in the 4.6 SN-95 GT's work? I know bits and pieces, but I want to hear from someone that knows EXACTLY how the fuel goes from the tank, through the lines, to the injectors to the cylinders. Feel free to throw in how the air is mixed in there. There aren't any stickys on the subject and finding true, understandable information on this is difficult on the internet. Anyone care to be a teacher?

this may or may not be detailed enough, I am unsure of how detailed you want it, you probably already know this, but here it is for shiits and giggles. Fuel is picked up by the pump in the tank. Ran through the filter and up to the front of the car through the fuel lines. It is let in one side ofone of thefuel rails, there is a loop on the other end of this rail that connects it to the other fuel rail. Fuel is held in there under pressure thanks to the FPR. When the electrical signal is sent to the injectors, they open for a split second and that pressurized fuel goes out the injector due to a relatively lower pressure on the outlet side of the injector. The air meets the injector right before entering the combustion chamber. When the engine is under heavy load and then you let off the throttle there is excess pressure and fuel in the rails, so on the other rail, it lets excess fuel go back to the tank. This is a general way that return multi port injectod gasolinefuel systemswork.

I wanna say yes to thats how our fuel system works, but something tells me that we have something different. I will look at it, but that should be the way we work.

RE: Need some education: Fuel System
Ok, so I have a retrun style pump on my 97 GT, correct. If so, can someone please point me in the direction of a pump that is 255 lph and a good price? I have been trying to find one for ever now and have been pretty unsuccessful. I just don't want to pay $300+ for a pump that I might end up replacing in the future anyway.
