Need help with my 8.8
When I ordered my gears I was going to get the master install kit that comes with all the parts and new bearings. But they told me so I don't waste my money just to get the install kit that is like $31 and a bottle of "friction modifier" and i would be set
So I take my car in yesterday to have my 4.10's put in with parts mentioned above and a new pinion bearing.
well I get a phone call from the guy he said that i need too replace the carrier bearing or all the bearings that are in the rearend.
but my car has 53K could all the bearings in my 8.8 need to be replaced or should they be ok?
sorry I have tried to explain this best i can, hopefully i makes sense
On a side note i had a 87 fox that had 116k and had 3.73's put in and no bearings except the pinion bearing were replaced

RE: Need help with my 8.8
I did my gears at about 45k miles and all my bearings looked great. I went ahead and replaced them anyway since I already ordered them and already had the rear end apart. Go to the shop and look at the bearings for yourself and make the call.
