what engine/tranny is in my gt?

Ok guys, I bought this project car which is a 96 GT. It is very clear that the engine and transmission have been removed and put back in. The filler tube is on the wrong side for a 96 GT, so Im wondering if I might have some newer 4.6. If that's the case, how can I tell exactly what engine and transmission I have in my car.

How can I tell if the tranny is a 3650, or a t45?

newer 4.6 vs. older 4.6?

any info will be great.

go do a couple powershifts..if it breaks riht away its a t45 haha

'96 Mustangs did come with a T45 stock, but they weren't Windosr heads. They're Romeo heads.

As far as what you have, you need to get the numbers off of the block and heads. Then, check your trans for numbers. Other than that, it could just be a NPI with PI valve covers.
