Type of fuel?
Hey guys, whats up?
I've never owned a V8 before this, and am unsure whitch fuel is best for the Mustang GT. My friend keeps recommending 93, whish is what I have put in it the last 2 times. It certainly is working just fine and don't see any problems. But I do see a lot of stuff saying I should be using 87 for this vehicle. Is that what I should be using? Is there any harm in using 93?
Thanks a ton guys!

RE: Type of fuel?
I use the cheaper one all the time, unless I want to some performance then I go with the good stuff - nothing will happen to the car, the only thing that can help is some performance loss or gain.

I change back and fort depending, but if I'm just in the city chilling crusing getting from point A to B, I stay with the cheapy gas, save my self some $$$ in these times of need, LOL! I also use some gas threatments once in a while, helps keep everything clean

RE: Type of fuel?
The only time you need any type of Premium fuel or octane boost is when you run your ignition timing over 10 degrees BTDC or the compression ratio exceeds 10.1:1. If you burn premium fuel in a car that doesnt require it then all your gonna do is get a lot of wall wash and the liquid gas that gets to your O2 sensors and cats will eventually burn them up. Plain and simple.

Only the 4v engines know what kind of gas is in them(they have knock sensors).Running higher than recomended octane just gives $$$$$ out your tailpipe. It can also give you deposits on spark plugs and in combustion chambers.
