Depends on what you are looking for. I happen to really like the Saleen's and if you are into crusing around town then get the Saleen. If you are into hanging out at the strip and racing people; hands down get the Cobra.

03 cobra will own the saleen mod for mod, and quite frankly the cobra look better IMO. and not to mention the 4v v 2v argument. cobras got the 4v and saleen is a GT with a crappy s/c on it with a body kit.

The superchargers on the 2001 Saleens were their weakness compared to today's superchargers. 2003 and 2004 Cobras are great cars for the money.
Besides motor considerations, a more limited production, suspension and looks are the other things that may sway your decision one way or the other, depending upon how high these fall on your priority list.

Personally..... and I will probably get flamed for saying this, but I'm a big boy and can take it, so flame on. [8D]
I would take the Saleen for the potenial collectabilty of it.
These could be like the vintage Shelby's for the future as far as collecablity like the vintage Shelby's are now.
Modding, HP, and fastness asside, If I could afford a "special car" wether it be a Saleen, Roush, Steeda, ETC.... I would get that over a dime a dozen GT or a Cobra any day.
I would keep it stock for the most part and only mod it, if I did at all, with the appropriot CO's parts.
But that is just me....

Hell, look at my fathers 69 mach 1. In perfect condition, with all numbers matching, its worth around 25-30K tops... which isn't jack. I mean, you have the car for 50 years or so plus keep it in perfect condition (forget the price of a resto) and its worth about the same $$ as a bone stock 2007 GT...
