Default Water in spark plugs

The other day i took my car though a car wash, after it was done my car started to skip jerk ect,
I pop the hood and it sounded like water from the wash got in my spark plugs,i took one of the wires out and it was wet,and you could see the water shooting off the plug,i have a 3' cobra -r hood, guess the water came down from the windshield in to the engine. It stop today, but what i like to know is if you guys think it did any damage to the engine??it seem to run fine now,but i want to make sure before i drive it.

Default RE: Water in spark plugs

When I bought my 96 GT the dealer that I bought it from said that it is really common for water to seep into the boots around the spark plugs. He said if you just pull all the boots off and let the plugs and boots dry off then everything should be just fine. When I first test drove my car it started to miss and the Check Engine Light came on. I took it back to him and told him if he could fix it I would buy it. He took the boots off the plugs and let them dry out. I came back three days later and all was well, no check engine light and he said all he did was let it dry out. I've driven over 500 miles since then and no problems. So there's no need to worry about it.

Happened to me.. and it was coolant from the POS plastic intake crossovers. Let everything dry, replaced the intake manifold and i was good to go.

But no, i dont think you did any damage. It would be very hard for water to get down past that plug without buring up first.
