wiait until winter time, there will be a thread every week about a wrecked mustang.
Yeah, I remember that. I just hope I'm not one of them. There's not much I can do about the bad taction except be as careful as I can. Hopefully that's enough.

S197s can powerslide much more easily than our cars can... My friend did this powerslide out into an empty 5 lane road and I was left thinking... wow, my car would have ended up in circles. It's just the way the rear suspension setup is. Tires make the biggest difference. When I had my BFG KDW tires on there (295/35-18 in the back) I could go WOT in the rain in second gear and not have a problem... with these current tires (245/45-17 sumitomo HTR-Z 2) I hear myself squeaking one of themin the drywhenever I have to make a left turn from a stop at anythingfaster than walking speed. oil on the road surface will cause instant loss of traction. i've encountered it getting on a main road at the bottom of second gear with good tires and it was turned right around even with the wheel locked trying to counter steer. its like hitting black ice.

today i braked in my 04 gt while it was slippery out and i slide about 20 feet coming literally centimeters from hitting the car infront of me.....i noticed that i was braking the car started going sideways and i don't think my ABS kicked in? I bought this car used and its a 2004 GT 5speed w/o traction control, is there anyshot that a 2004 GT doesn't come with ABS?

if im not mistaken if your car does not have t/c than you dont have abs..... i could be wrong. i think t/c and abs were an option.

Is it possible you also slipped the clutch a little more than usual? You may have preloaded the drivetrain, revved it up early and as such put a lot more power down to the wheels than you were expecting to, and as such broke tracion.

Mustangs + rain not a good combo.Test your car in a parking lot late at night when theres nobody around and learn the cars limits.
