Even with a completely stock setup, under those conditions (sharp corner, half throttle, rain) my rear tires would spin. Traction control has saved me several times. I also have Kuhmo tires which could be some of the problem. A lot of the tires on our cars are not meant to handle bad weather. You can go to Tire Rank and research the tires and their ratings. My Kuhmo tires have a cold weather rating of n/a. You can't get any worse than thatand they proved it last winter. I've ordered a set of all season tires for this winter.

My DD tooo.... sucks. Its been raining here for the past 4 days.
I totaled my g/f's mustang this past winter... hit some black ice going about 65. The car didnt respond to anything at all... slammed into a concrete wall still at about 60mph and almost killed both of us......then her dad almost killed me. []

I can floor it in first doing 20MPH with trac control on while its pouring down rain on a canted asphalt road and with the trac on, itll stay straight as an arrow. This is with stock tires, 315 sumicrappos, it stays straight. Sure I dont have the most powerful car, but my sus is stock and I am with the average bolt on GT

today i braked in my 04 gt while it was slippery out and i slide about 20 feet coming literally centimeters from hitting the car infront of me.....i noticed that i was braking the car started going sideways and i don't think my ABS kicked in? I bought this car used and its a 2004 GT 5speed w/o traction control, is there anyshot that a 2004 GT doesn't come with ABS?
if im not mistaken if your car does not have t/c than you dont have abs..... i could be wrong. i think t/c and abs were an option.
is this true?

You could still have an anti-lock brake system though. And, I would bet that you do. There is a Vehicle Certification Label on the drivers side door jamb. For the 2000 GT the bottom row, first number is BRK which is the brake type code. A 2 indicates four-wheel disc with anti-lock brake system (SRS). A 3 indicates traction control. And, a 5 indicates four-wheel disc with anti-lock brake system (ABS) and traction control. The 2004 codes may be different. Check with a dealer.
