i have a o/r x, depending on the year you dont have to switch the pipes, just get MIL eliminators if its a 96 and up since those years dont get the tailpipe emmisions they get the OBD port test and if your check engine light is not on you will pass......the o/r pipes will set the engine light in 99-04 i know for sure, get the MILs and it will shut the light off and you will pass, works for me for the past 3 years on all my stangs.

ive in the past either swapped back to a stock one real quick or slipped the guy 50 bucks and he passed me. they dont do the sniffer as said they just check for trouble codes with a HH, but they sometimes do look under the car to check for problems with the exhaust (i.e. no cats, holes, rusted out exhaust, etc...). it takes about an hour to change pipes, as said the hardest part is breaking the bolts the first time. youll need about a 3 foot long extension for your ratchet, a swivel head, and whatever bolt is up there i forget.

pshh... i just paid about $500 bucks for a catted x-pipe and 4 o2 sensors... just to pass emissions. never again... took me 4 hours under car to swap out the pipes. PITA if you ask me. only have emissions every 2 years so im gonna go back to the o/r till then.
