what would cause a gas gauge to get stuck at half on a fill up and goes down but never pass the half mark on fill ..how do i fix that..ohh and the car had a new gas tank put in with a gas pump thing you can adjust to increase the psi.. as it has a gauge for that reading 40lbs. when the car is turned on ..

Drop the tank and make sure the sending unit isn't hanging up on something.
