Default 4.6 (99 to 04) Swap questions

As you all know, I have a 99 gt and my motor seized. I found a new motor with 18 thous. miles on it but its from an 04 gt. will it bolt right up, or will I have troubles since I don't have a T-3650 tranny?

Long time no talk mf'ers.

It'll bolt up no problem. Youll just need a new 6 bolt 10.5" flywheel to match your clutch and transmission.

You got that backwards. The 99's had the 6bolt 10.5" flywheels. The late 01-04's had 11" flywheels and were Windsor blocks that had 8 bolt cranks. So, you'll need an 11" 8 bolt flywheel. You can re-use your clutch if you want, but you'll have to get a 10.5" flywheel with 8bolts. I reused my 10.5" clutch with my cobra swap because it was new. I just bought an 8bolt flywheel and good to go. It should be a piece of cake!

lol, no man you got it backwards I have a 99 I just dropped an 03 shortblock in. 99/00 are 8 bolt 10.5"windsors. He'll need a new 6 bolt 10.5" flywheel to work with the T-45. I just went through the same thing.

hey! i just did a similar sawp in my car. i blew up my motor so i bought a new 04 complete motor. you'll def need a new flywheel. and because of the different pulley set up from your old windsor block to the romeo block you'll need to modify the a/c lines, you'll have to bend them because they will rub, you'll need to modify your power steering reservior bracket to fit on the new block, and you'll need to get a new radiator hose because the old one will be too short.

You wont need a new radiator hose if you reuse the old thermostat housing and intake.
