well when you finish the fix let me know exactly what you replaced on it. I have been told to replace the tensioners and guides.

Mine had a nasty ticking noise that would increase with RPMs that turned out to be arching due to a lose spark plug. No thread on the head left... the spark plug came off with the COP soon as I pulled it out. Re-threaded the head with a Perma-Plug kit and now the spark plug sits in place more snug than ever.

No more ticking noise!

THE ONLY REAL FIX FOR ANY PROBLEM IN YOUR LOWER ENGINE ASSEM. , IS TO PULL IT, AND REBUILD. DO NOT LET SOMENOE TELL YOU THEY CAN PUT SOME BEARINGS IN, AND THAT WILL FIX IT. IF YOU DECIDE TO DO SO, JUST SEND ME SOME OF THAT EASILY EARNED, OR OTHERWISE GIVEN CASHAND I WILL SEND YOU SOME FIX-IT-RITE IN A CAN.

I have the same problem. But like 2000gtfool mine had been diagnosed as a timing belt chain.
