Default exhaust leak, how long will my car last?

The shop I bring my car to broke a header bolt while installing my clutch. While they did fix the problem by welding it back on, I fear it has come off again. My car sounds kind of like a diesel engine at idle, only quieter. It's not necessarily in the engine bay, but more near the back of the wheel. So, let's assume the header bolt is cracked and there is only one bolt holding the header and the mid pipe onto the car on the passenger's side.

How long will this engine last with this problem? Indefinately? I am planning on fixing it with long tubes, but I have a couple 800 mile trips to make in the next few months and just want to know if this will bother the car too much. ALSO, if I get long tube headers, will the ones made by MAC work fine? I have a stock setup right now. And if I get them, I have to get a different H or X pipe, right? I'm thinking SLP LMII, but what eles sounds nice and deep and not raspy? MAC H pipe? Just some input would be great.

If its just the midpipe to exhaust manifold bolt/stud its no big deal. It won't affect your engine at all. Just sounds bad. Longtubes and an H pipe will sound great with the SLP LM2.

So the car will be fine to go down to NC for that cruise this weekend? And someone was telling me that the car can suck in cold air when it has been sitting for long enough to cool down, is that right? I'm not sure if the gap is THAT big, but I figure I'll get some more insight on it.

Like he said, if that is actually the problem, you have nothing to worry about except for a ****ty sounding car.

Ok, cool. The car doesn't actually sound all that bad. Like I said, it's only at idle you can hear it and you have to know what you're listening for to catch it. I'll just go about my business until I can get the ***** to lift the engine and put the LTs in.
