Default Yet another exhaust question

I really hate posting these, but the search feature on this site sucks my left nut. SO, I'll have to ask it here. I have the opportunity to buy some MAC long tube headers and a BBK off road h-pipe. How will those two sound together with a stock catback? Will they sound deep or raspy? (a link to a clip would be great) Also, my emitions probably won't pass inspection, so if I keep my stock h-pipe, can I put it back on after the long tubes are installed?

Thanks in advance and sorry again for having to ask about yet another exhaust system.

I dont know how it would sound, but after you do it, I would like to hear a clip. Anyway your stock h pipe will not fit with long tubes, so you will never be able to put it back on. and yes I agree, the search feature does blow

Why would you want to run LTs and an O/R midpipe with stock mufflers? I can't imagine it sounding very good at all. The stock mufflers are pretty restrictive and ****ty sounding. Since a lot (if not most) of the tone of your exhaust comes from the mufflers, I wouldn't imagine it would sound very good at all. Most people start with cat-back and then work forward, so I wouldn't expect to hear too many clips.

The reason I need to do that is because I have to replace my headers. The shop I take my car to broke my header bolt and now there's a gap between the header and the mid pipe. And since I'm replacint the header, why not upgrade to long tubes? And if I do that, I can't use the stock pipe. That's why I'm doing it backwards. I just want to know that if those two pieces will sound good with the SLP LMII cat back system. That's all.

And wwmost, thanks for the clip. I'm at work, so I can't see it right now. But I'll check it when I get home.

if you get long tubes you also need to get a shorty mid-pipe cuz the LT come way further back then the manifolds (hence LT) so you need to get a shorter mid pipe to work with the long tubes and the cat back.
