Yes, 99s and 01s have forged cranks. You're right about the Mach.
You gotta remember, 95% of the memberson this sitelive their lives a 1/4 mile at a time. The Cobra was an obvious choice for me because I wanted versatility in performance.....
And trustme, NO ONE mistakes my car fior a V6....

+1 on the no one thinks im a v6. 1.) due to the blow your ear drums loud, and 2.) im fast[8D]
and the machs look the same except for that ram air(just looks) which i could careless for, and ugly *** rims. BUT the cobras interior kills a mach's

oh **** he just leveled the playing field again with the forged crank. what is diffrent about the motors then? cam grind, head design, i know the "ram air" is but anything else?

here is the pro's i see
both forged cranks
both respond very well to mods
both look good
heres the cons
cobra has wheel hop
mach costs more for the same thing
mach is more on my insurance
COPS HATE ME! tickets galore either way.
at my price range 12-14k they will both be up in the miles or close to the same.
This car will be stock for quite some time due to me moving again. so upgrades are a nice thought, but not feasible right now.

On a Mach... you can have a KB and no one would have a clue! Thanks to the Shaker [8D]
Other than performance... I fell in love with the Mach's looks. I love the cowl hood topped off with the Shaker!
LOVE IT! Someone at Ford's designing team was having a good day when they came up with the 03/04 Mach [8D]

stock for stock
at a strip the mach will win. at the track the cobra will win. now you find me a track in michigan[sm=icon_rofl.gif]

If anything whenever I ride w/ any of my buddy's w/ a Mach 1 you get people in GT's and other slower cars trying to race because they think they're at GT or V6 (until they see the hood at least) when you're in a Cobra they see the rear bumper and the badges and they know not to mess...
I love the Mach's w/o a doubt, but I'd personally go w/ the Cobra. The suede interior is awesome and performs just as good as a Mach, if not better. I've got no wheel hop (besides when it's like 30 degrees out) and all I did was add Nitto DR's and lower it 2"...
You can find a Cobra w/ around 40k for $14 or $15 thousand. I got mine for $14 w/ 40k and saw others for around the same....
