Default Well the motor is done... suggestions?

I just got word from the shop that the crank won't budge. I knew that before I dropped the car off. We were throwing around some ideas for the motor if it needs a rebuild. I wanted to go with a 5.0 stoker kit but the guy said I would have to get new injectors and such. He suggested since I am p&ping the heads and putting in cams that I should just get domed pistons to increase compression. I'm not trying to spend more then 6k. Any suggestions? Maybe any good short blocks anyone has seen?

I was looking on there. I really want the 351R block. I called them and they said 5300 for the full short block. Kinda too much since I have to pay to get my old motor out plus head work, cams, and injectors. I was thinking about getting the 5.0 strokershort blockor the 5.4 short blockfrom there also.

The 5.4 is going to be pricey too. The only way you can save money on this project is to do the work yourself. You will find little to no relief on the cost of parts no matter how you do it unless someone really loves you and gives you stuff like that.

Haha I think you are right. Well I have taken my car to the place it is at a couple times and so has a buddy of mine. It is father and sons owned and they primarily work on Ford motors. I was thinking Manley pistions with a 11.20 compression ratio, stage 2 comp cams, of course the p&p they are doing, 75mm tb and plenum, JLT intake, and an electric water pump. I already have full exhaust LTs with o/r H and flows and I am getting rid of my u/d pullies.I figure I should be putting at least 310+ to the wheels with that set up. Oh and a dyno tune with my SCT X2.

I just got off the phone with MMR and they said with a dyno tune I can run pump gas with those pistons and be fine.

If you're doing headwork,Idlook into thestroker kit. Its only a couple hundred more. I emailed VTengines a while back about it and they said they had great success with them; specifically with P&P headsbut wouldn't really recommend the kit without the head work. A lot of people rag on the stroker kits, and most of those people are only repeating hearsay. It seems that the majority of people who actually have the kits are happy with them...

Oh, and you don't want domed pistons. I think flat tops will put you close to 13:1...
