Clutch needs replaced/good shop in IL?
I have a '99 GT and the stock clutch is finally starting to slip. I need to replace it, but have a couple of questions. Does anyone know of any good shops near the Schaumburg/Elgin area of IL? I do not want to tackle this one myself. Also, how much should I expect for install if I supply a new clutch (TOB, etc.) myself? Thanks!

I dont live in IL and I did mine myself, so Im not sure what you should expect to pay. I can recommend a clutch though. The centerforce dual friction is a great clutch. Awesome pedal feel and good clamping pressure. What were you thinking about going with?

Usually a shop will charge you a little more if you supply parts but that way you can ensure you will get the brand you want. Check out the line of Spec clutches we sell. If you email or call us and indicate you are a Mustang Forums member, we can give you a discount.
There are 5 different stages for the Spec clutches. For more street and strip driving a stage 2 or 3 would be great. We can help you pick one as well if you give us a call.

Thanks Fast Toys. I was thinking about SPEC or Centerforce. Also, I know you really should get a new flywheel when replacing the clutch, but how much is resurfacing it? I would like to avoid the $230 flywheel expense if I can. Also, Mark99GT how hard was it? Did you have to drop the tranny? I don't know if I'm up for all that.
