I read in MMFF that it doesn't do you any good to go any bigger than 70MM, if you don't do any engine mods... I can't remember why tho....

I was under the impression that without any power adders...going above 70mm was not necessary as the increased flow would actually cut down velocity.

Well it actually depends on the plenum. C&L did a test and they gainge like 6 more HP out of the 75mm and their throttle body then they did with the 70mm. If you're using the stocker like I am, then port and polish it and get a 70mm and you will feel a noticable difference.

I've seen people LOOSE hp with the 75mm without a power adder. I run a 75mm, but thats only 'cause my blower.

well i plan on getting a TB and plenum. it was gonna be a CL plenum and an Accufab TB. i have bolt ons and plan on extending the list but i was just wondering if i should get a 75 for the nitrous planned on down the road. i mean its like a 10 mile walk to there for now but eventually i will be there, i was just wondering what i should get for now. just go with the 75 and suffer a ew HP til the nitrous or just go with a 70 mm? thanks.

Well, if you havent already then take a look at www.CNLPerformance.com and read the tests. Here is one right hur.

Test vehicle #1 is a modified 2002 GT owned by Dave Bennett.. His modifications before testing were the following...

C&L 85mm Mass Airflow System with Trueflow inlet pipe
Under-drive pullies
Timing adjuster set to 12 degrees
Off-road X-pipe with Mil Eliminators
Magnaflow 2 1/2" cat-back exhaust

Baseline dyno testing showed a peak power output of 263.5 HP and 301.38 Ft/Lb of torque. After installing the new C&L Trueflow Inlet Plenum and 75mm BBK throttle body, peak power jumped up to 277.5 HP and 318 Ft/Lb of torque, for gains of 14 HP and 17 ft/lb of torque. Larger power improvements were found in other points in the curve, so we broke down the Horsepower and Torque charts separately to be viewed in the following dyno charts.

And hur is another! with the 70mm TB...

Joe Panciarello of Mustang Magic in Deer Park, NY (www.mustangmagicinc.com) sent us the following dyno test results from their shop 2002 GT project vehicle. This car is used for road racing, and in Joe's own words, it now "Pulls like a freight train" in fourth gear after the swap. The following charts show the before and after dyno results using the SAME Ford 70mm throttle body in both the before and after tests. These results show a gain of around 10 rear wheel HP and about 11 ft/lbs of additional torque. If you would like to talk to Joe about this test or any of the services that he offers, feel free to contact him at (631) 254-3430

And here is the website. WWW.CNLPerformance.COM
