Oh lordy ! Why not just beef up the AOD and have fun? My 99 is a 5sp and I understand the dilemma. Did yours have the GT scoops and wheels? Mine is an off-lease car and looks like a V6 til I go zoom.

Hope ya got the $$$ cuz it ain't gonna be cheap to swing the pedal, change the mounts and driveline, not to mention a computer change/upgrade.

Why do ppl buy a car and then want to do stuff like drop in a v8 and change the tranny to a 5sp or vice versa, when its cheaper just to buy the car you wanted

Because 10-15 years ago, crap like this was easy. Cars weren't so depended on computers & the way cars were designed, it was done with a friend & jackstands.

Sounds like a project that is more involved than its worth. I agree you should just beef up the AOD. Spend the money you save on some engine upgrades!
