id go with the Mach its newer plus you dont have to deal with the IRS but i also heard the IRS is only on the 03,04 cobra, might be wrong so dont hold me to it! But Machdef has Soild Rear! Better for Launchs plus the Mach is gonna be a collectors gets more head truns!

I think it's funny how Mach's rarely get brought up here and then all of a sudden within the last 2 weeks I see Mach 1 vs Cobra... Mach vs GT vs Cobra... Mach this... Mach that... in a couple of weeks... we will be back to "which exhaust sounds best"...though I almost fall victim to that thread to with my h-pipe vs prochamber thread [8D]
Personally and this is NON BIASED because this is how I felt before I ever owned a Mach and that is I LOVE LOVE LOVED the stylings of the Machs and you still get the 4v engine. It was love at first sight. I've always been a HUGE fan of the Cobras whether it was a 99-01 or a 03-04 but then I found out what a Mach 1 was and nearly fell head over heals with it.
So really get whichever you'd like. Which one can you see yourself riding in 24/7?
Imagine the Mach's Shaker sticking in your face as you try and look out of the front window... does that give you tingles?
Or does having that well-known, rice-fearing name, "Cobra" give you chills?
It's your decision! Have fun deciding!! I doubt you will have any regret with whichever you choose.

As far as styling, I also like the look of the Mach 1 better than the cobra of the same body. Then another part says I like the lower profile of the 96-98 cobra the best. I go back and forth on which I like the look of better. Either way, I think they both look best in red. This car below is gorgeous,im lookin fora 96-98cobra w/ black interior but you get the idea...

I'm not sure which year they started those hoods at but there's a red Cobra around here with it and a black one and DAMN does it look so sick.

Correct! Every 96-98 Cobra came with that hood. I love it myself, kinda looks like nostrils of a snake or something.
