Default Rear end Gear

Hello all. I am a new member and just purchased a 4.6 V8 96 GT Automatic. I am curious as to what would be the best set up for my car while on the motor. All advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Since you are automatic, 4.10's are almost a must to get a good bang for your buck out of a gear swap.

Definitely go with 4.10's. I had a 96 GT Auto Vert and put 3.73's in it and I was disappointed.

Go with the 4.10s if you dont plan on doing anything else with your car. If you plan on PI swap+F/I+bolt ons I would consider the 3.73s

Thanks for the info. I do plan on putting different heads, and supercharging itin the future but since the expense is so minimal at this time I will take the advise and go with the 4:10's. I will change to 3:73 when I do a head swap and supercharger.

Right now I am going to focus on intake, gears, long tube headers, h pipe 2.5 inch exhaust? Flowmaster mufflers, and reprogram my ECU.

Can this motor handle nitrous? if yes how much? Note: this car has 145,000 miles on it. Runs strong.................what do you guys think.
