Default Transmission Question

Well Ive been getting used to my GT after getting it recently... Well one thing that Ive noticed and it really bugs the hell out of me is that sometimes when im shifting, my 2nd and 3rd gears dont seem to want to go into gear... Ill push the clutch and everything and sometimes the shifter just wont move into place. It embarassed the hell out of me when I was giving one of my friends that has a Civic Si a ride and it wouldnt go into 2nd and ended up redlining.... Any thoughts?

Welcome to the world of the Mustang's crappy trans. The synchros for 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears get worn out rather easilywhich causes difficulty shifting.

Its not the trannys fault... the 3650 is a fantastic transmission, user error is why so many of these care are fuked up... seriously

you must rev match your shifts & you must shift into forward gears before shifting into reverse...
its not complicated and its not hard, it just make your drive smoother... so do it and save yourself a transmission

Yup that happens. you may want to consider upgrading to a tko or t56 if you have the money. if not, at the least it sounds like your syncros need to be replaced.

so should i redline it just a little then shift and see how that works? I mean I really dont have money for a new tranny. Im a seniorin highschool and I got a managent spotjob where I work where i get like $1400 bonuses every 3 months. thats why i bought the car. I can afford everything without the bonuses but when it all comes down to it it only leaves me with like 150 a month left after gas, payment, and insurance...

if you want to save your trans for a little while until you can get it repaired or get a new i would suggest double clutching the gears you commonly grind.
