Exhuast??

Exhuast??
Ok, I'm new to the v8 world, and I have a question about straight pipes. I got rid of my mufflers so i have 2 1/4" pipe from the catback. I heard that I might have a lack of back pressure now. I stuck with the 2 1/4" because I heard that any bigger w/o mufflers could cause me to lose torque and h.p. So did I lose h.p. and torque even though I stuck with the the same size pipes?

Welcome to the forums.. and the V8 world.
Im curious how that sounds with straight pipes... got a vid?
There will be a lack of back pressure there... But I dont think youre going to be losing much hp

RE: Exhuast??
the 4 cats that our cars come equipped with give enough backpressure to sustain the low TQ levels.... but if you take them off too... well then you're gonna lose low end power, but maybe gain 1-2 up top. IMO get an OR midpipe and bullet-style mufflers.... then up the size of the pipes to 2.5 inches. (standard with most aftermarket exhaust kits)
