I think it's comforting that Ford can not only make a 4.6 head that breathes like ****, it also likes to spit out spark plugs.

Maybe it's just me, but since I posted my plug blowing out and all these other issues coming up about 2-3 months ago, there have been more and more of them showing up out of the woodwork.

Horay for Ford.

Ford has had a ton of problems with these OHC cylinder heads.

Every V8 OHC engine has had cylinder head issues.

Cobrastang, I only mentioned that because someone could be a turd and just shoot them an e-mail with everything you said. They could easily find a way to argue it's slander and you could be without any assistance. Give'em a chance to rectify the situation.... [8D]I'd be just as angry as you are, but cooler heads always prevail...

Dan is totally right.

It isn't an issue of whether they should do the fix but whether they will do the fix.

If they were to get wind of them getting trashed on a message board they may say F' you and not do it.
This would then force you to take further action and in the mean time your car isn't getting fixed.

Just wait and see what they are going to do and go from there.
Hopefully they make it right.

If it was the same sparkplug that blew out then they should fix it. If not they can tell you to pay for the fix or buy a new head. All SOHC heads up to 03 had too few threads in the sparkplug holes which leads to them blowing out. In 04 Ford fixed the problem by adding more threads. If you buy aftermarket P&P heads and look in the sparkplug holes you will be able to tell if they are 04 heads or not by looking for the helicoil. Most companys will add threads to the heads before they sell them. My point is is Ford knows of the problem and fixed it and you missed the recall so your SOL if it was a different sparkplug.
