Im posting for a friend of mine who has a 2000 GT. We are having a hard time trying to figure out what is causing his problem. Taking off or just driving in any gear the motor will hesitate/ bog down, then pick back up. Even just sitting at a stop light idling you will hear the motor miss every so often. And after riding in his car we could smell fuel as if it were running alittle rich maybe. Codes were run at the Ford dearlship and they said they found nothing wrong with it. Mustang is pretty much stock, only mods are typhoon intake, fender well air filter/intake, and bassani Xpipe. Brand new ford plugs have been put in, fuel filter has been changed. Any more ideas?

Are all the coils in good shape? Positive there is no exhaust leaks?

Ford dearlship said the coil packs were fine. Yes it could be possible fora exhaust leak, because his Xpipe hangs way to low and scrapes his inclined drive way among other things.

I had another vehicle once that had acrack in the rubber intake tube between the O2 sensor and the motor that caused the same symptoms you mentioned. Might check that too. I replaced the elbow and the problem went away.

Im thinking exhaust leak or bad alternator have you checked the alternator?

Stupid idea, but is the fuel filter going in the right direction? I've had some that needed to go one way, if not in the right way it wouldn't run right.
