my tensioner on the passenger side is bad i think...i have a tapping sound at cold start, watched videos and read threads of other members here who have had the problem....anyone know what im looking at cost wise to replace tensioners and guides on both sides?

I've got lots of miles on mine (135K), so I'm planning to replace them. Parts appear to be about $250-300 from what I can tell.

no way man. you can do it at home... take off the valve covers and timing cover along with all accessories and crank pulley. then replace the parts. easy as that.

if you lived near knoxville i could do the work

yea... also if you slip timing while replacing them... take off the timing chains.. fold them in half, and mark each end and then put each end that was marked on the dot on the cam pulley and the crank pulley. easy as that.i think you have to remove them anyways to do this job... not really hard at all though.
