Ok the kid wants to know if you can make a 400 rwhp N/A 2V mustang. The answer is yes. Will you be able to drive it on the street? NO. Big bore (3.7) 5.0 stroker block with 11:1 compression, heavly ported heads and intake, huge radical cam, extreme tune, no accessories, double roller cam followers, solid lash posts, meth injected, race fuel, 2 speed trans, open longtube headers and you should have 400 to wheels in a really bad *** trailor queen of a mustang.

He is in a stock GT that runs low 14's, not gonna beat any LS1's with those times.

hehe i took down an LT-1 the other day =P poor guy. anyways i dont see why our engines can't put 400 to the wheels N/A someone is doing something wrong. unless mathmatically our engine is too small and doesnt flow enough. personally i think it can be done without race fuel. so someone prove me wrong.

I took out a LT-1 TA a few months ago, I was pretty excited myself. But he was in complete stock trim. I'm sure if he where modded the results would have been different.

RE: N/A power
It is possible, but the big hold back is the flow of our heads. If you follow the flow to power ratio of your engine. Ported 2V Heads are only good to about 450hp at the engine which means 400 at the wheels if your lucky. And that is at max efficiency. Bottom line is our head design does not support enough flow to enable our cars to make more than 400hp at the crank let alone the wheels. This is why everyone get FI. If you have FI (Forced Induction) it doesn't really matter what it flows, you can cram all the air in you want, you just have to worry about efficiency then and heat.

I really don't worry about numbers to the wheels. I am getting my motor rebuilt now becauseit seized. I am going to get higher compression pistons, the heads ported, and some cams. I already have full exhaust and I am going to throw on a tb/plenum, a JLT, and some gears and just have fun with it. I'm sure I can take some LS1s when I get it back but all in all I am not really concerned with hp numbers.
