auto you lose about 20% HP thru tranny, manual about 15%. swap not worth it IMO. if you want to keep your car get some gears and a shift kit, if you really want a 5 speed IMO just get one thats a 5 speed.

there is nothing wrong with the autos... the only thing is you get harassed for it being auto sometimes. I have one of each and I prefer the auto most of the time. It does have a shift kit though. Dont waste your time on the swap.

The auto is no fun to drive. It is my daily driver but still i like shifting. Is the gas mileage any better auto to manual? I am getting 20-21 in my auto.

manual is faster providing you can drive it. I would do gears and tune to change shift points. I would take that 2 grand and save it towards supercharger would be my recommendation.

+1

The auto is no fun to drive.
Add a torque converter, shift kit, and tranny cooler and you will think differently. If you want a straight line car, keep the auto. If you prefer shifting and like things like autocross, then trade for a 5 speed. A tranny swap is not worth it IMO though. I promise you won't feelany power difference, only you get to shift. Gas mileage can be a little better in a manual if you keep the rpm's down, but will you be tempted to hold gears? How you drive is the biggest determining factor.
