Default Direct Port Nitrous....

I'm thinking about using nitrous on my car since it will still allow me to autocross it ocasionally ( since stockish GT power is plenty for that, hell look at Miatas' ) and get retain factory like drivability when I;m off the bottle. I know that the 4.6 intake manifold has some problems playing nice with wet shots since the fuel likes to puddle in the bottom and go boom[:'(], so I'm looking at a direct port setup. I'm kinda torn between two kits though, an NOS and a NX. The NOS kit is the NOSzle setup ( uses spacers under the injectors to inject fuel and nitrous ), with a 10 lb. bottle a RPM window switch and a Fuel Pressure switch for just over $1400. Link to said kit: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku

The NX kit is basically a fogger setup with 8 "Piranah" nozzles that would require drilling and tapping the intake manifold as close to the injector bungs as possible to prevent puddling. This kit runs just shy of $900 and I'd add a purge kit, window switch and a fuel pressure saftey switch so I'd figure around $1250 for everything I'd need to be safe. Link to said kit:

Now with either of these kits I'm going to stick with a MAX of a 125 shot right now until I can build up my fuel system then bump up to a 200 or so. The NOS kit is pretty much made for the 4.6 ( albeit more expensive) while the NX kit is basically a universal kit and a bit cheaper. And both companies seem to have good quality products. So my question for you guys is which kit is the best to go with?

you will be fine with a regular nozzle setup taped into your intake. why would u wast your money on that for such a little shot? ive had my nitrous for about 3 months now and no problems and ive been though 3 bottles. just get it tuned and use quality nozzles and put it about 6-8 inches away from the tb so the fuel can mist even more. with all that im sure you will be pretty safe. this is coming from a person with a zex 125 wet shot.

wwmost, are you using a bottle warmer or anything like that? Also, what are your mods besides the nitrous?

It is just going to be set at a 125 shot for the time being, after I build up my fuel system I'm going to run a 200 shot or maybe higher when I take it to the track. I'm not planning on going FI later down the road so I figure why not go with one of the best nitrous setups I can find. Plus two guys I know around where I live have shattered their intakes on their 4.6 from a backfire. One was running a 175 wet shot tuned by MPH, and the other was running a 125 wet shot tunned by a local shop. Nothing was wrong with the tunes, maybe some sort of system failure or a solenoid sticking or something, but it only took one time and boom, bye bye intake. I just want the safest nitrous system I can get, plus if I decide to go even bigger later down the road all I have to do is buy bigger jets, not a whole new system.

i have full exhaust, tb/plenem and tune.

if you get all the safety features, window switch, fpss, wot switch, fuel pump just for safety, good tune you will be fine. i still need to get a fpss.

Don't be fooled into thinking a Direct Port system is any safer than a single nozzle or plate system. Like any power-adder, nitrous systems can fail with bad results. Please check the pic below[8D]

I run a nitrous express plate system 100 shot on my 01gt with no problems. m y buddy was spraying his 00 with 150 shot with upgraded fuel system window switch low pressure switch all the safe guards and still had detonation problems. busted a piston.
