Default 400hp

im building a cobra engine and im hoping to get around 400hp N/A. does that seem too unrealistic for a n/a 4v built?

No. Its going to be expensive but not unrealistic. Buy high compression forged pistons and rods as well as some fr500 heads then port them with a high lift cam set + intake and exhaust.Should put you in the neighborhood.

It WOULD be cheaper to buy a supercharger. The highlift cam set is $1500. I thought about doing this route a while ago and its not the best way to do it.

ive seen 4v cam sets for about 1000 on vtengines.com

buy a navigator motor its a better place to start. navigators already have the next best flowing heads next to the fr500s, plus they are cheaper, navigator also comes with a forged crank so you wont have to budget that in.

o and if your worried about the weight disadvantage of the 5.4, start with an aluminum 3v 5.4 block.

h/c/i full bolt on's should put you around 420rwhp. bore the motor and what not and you could hit 450ish.

a guy on svtperformance made 457rwhp n/a
