Default Why is my idle so high and jumpy!!

i just got my car back from the body shop after not driving/seeing it for a month and it drives fine but my idle wont drop below 1000 even when warm and will go upppp then downnnnn uppppp then dowwnnnn but maybe down to 900 then up to about 1300-1500 then down. i unhooked my nitrous i thought maybe it was leaking not the case. loaded the stock tune/ nitrous tune/ and 93 octane tune doesnt help.

when i listen to the car i will hear a pshhhhhh and then my idle will raise then drop again then i hear and pshhh and it doest the same thing. what can that be? seems like its coming from the passenger side only and that noise is whats causing the idle fluctuation. im soo frusterated now. i sat there for an hour tryin to pin poin the sound but i cant. its coming near the firewall on the passenger side. any help?? im clueless.

maybe an iac valve?? keep in mind my car just hit the 12 thousand mile mark. not high mileage at all. this is why i hate when my car is at shops for a long period of time!!.

Vacuum leak. Check your PCV valve and vacuum lines.

thats what i thought at first. checked all the hoses. and if it was a vacum leak i would think it would idle lower then higher and sound like it has a cam in it.

I know on my car it's under the coil pack in front of the driver's side head. And if the car had a vacuum leak it would idle high.

I'm guessing your car had some work done on the passenger side front? Might the vacuum control lines for the vent system are not attached. Do your vents work properly?

Mine did that last week. Same sound. Cooler weather here loosened up some vacuum connections. Vacuum leak on return to intake on mine.
