the thing that fell out of the injector was just like a gasket type of thing...it didnt affect the car...thanks for gettin back to me, and i took it to ford and they didnt torque my plugs when they messed with them (just to clear that up)... the misfire was due to oil being in the plug holes on cylinders 4,7, and 8. (due to the oil, i burned out 2 coil packs) only way for that to happen is valve covers leaking oil and it running down into the holes. for the guy who thinks i should have taken it to ford to start with, i think that is a stupid really... an intake swap is not worth the $800 labor to have it done by ford...it took me and my dad 2 1/2 hours to do the whole swap...turns out the misfire had nothing to do with the intake, just a bad coincidence...

Nice comeback to stupid post... I give you credit for trying to do the job youself. I've been working on my own cars for 30 years, and these new carsare much more complcated then the old ones. I have never had to torque a sparkplug ,but do listen to the advice from other people with more experence then me. Sometimes i let my machanic do a job i feelis more then i want to tackle.Good luck and keep asking questions. Alot of guys here will try help, but sometimes it is hard to diognose over the computer.

thanks and yea, i have help from my dad whos been working on cars since he was a kid...we have never had to take our vehicles anywhere for services, the only thing ive ever had done by someone else was the gasket on my gas tank *our family mechanic has a lift so its easier than messing with a floor jack*, leaf spring mounts in my truck since we didnt have a cutting torch *family mechanic did them for $100 plus parts*, and i take my car to ford for oil changes since getting under it is such a hastle with the sportlines... we are going to tackle the timing chain tensioner problem that is bad this weekend or next and get new valve cover gaskets and COPs so that should get me back on the road! this site has been a huge help in diagnosing problems for me...but you are right, some things are hard to diagnose over a comp...perfect example was this lol...took it to ford and it took them an hour and 3 test drives to figure out all the problems (fouled plug, 2 bad COPS, oil in plug holes) but its all resolved now!
