Hey im getting ready to buy a vortech v2sq supercharger kit. Where would be the best place to buy it. Ive looked into mph's mongoose kit and it looks like for about 3700 i can get a satin supercharger and kit. I was looking at superchargersonline.com and it looks like for about the same price i can get roughly the same kit with a polished blower and 38lb injectors(mphs are 42's i believe) and no tune. I was planning on getting a dynotune anyways. What would you guys do? Any suggestions or ideas? And dont say go used im sick ofbuying used broken stuff.
There is absolutly no reason to get a "dyno tune" if your going to get the MPH kit. If your not running the MPH kit's tune, then the kit is not a good deal.

the entire reason that the kit is a good deal for 3700 is you get the tune and Xcal2 included with it, and tim's tune is one of (imo the) best in the world.

You will still need to get on a dyno and check the #s and a/f ratio, but its only a matter of a few pulls. if anything is wrong you can either correct it via the Xcal or MPH will send you a new tune via the internet free of charge.

Edit: I installed my mongoose kit in the garage at my house, drove it 2+ hours to the shop (staying out of boost/no WOT) and dynoed it. I never got the xcal out of the box, the car made 420 WHP the first full RPM pull.

97stanger -

I agree with you regarding Radical Racing - I too have some slight suspicions. I once calledfor a price quote for new 3.73 gears. They responded with $1,000 forparts, chip, & labor (high IMHO). Six weeks later, their price was $1250. I got the feeling they were making-up the numbers, pulling them out the air.

taping the pan isn't too bad, getting the belt on is a real PITA
Getting a new belt on any car is a PITA. It's not stretched at all when it's new. I suggest getting a buddy to help putting a new belt on.

are you kidding me? getting the belt on a 4.6l without a blower is piece of cake, with the blower is a totally different story
