Default '99 Mustang - Gearing?

Alright, so, my first post on this forum! Welcome to me!

So, I need some help...I just bought a '99 GT last week, and I'm trying to figure out if a prior owner has put gears in it or not...

I'm at about 2K at 70 MPH in 5th, and 2.5K at 80...any ideas?

Easiest way it to put the back in the air and put a mark on the driveshaft. Have a buddy spin the tire one full turn and you count how many times the mark passes you. 3 1/4 times you have stock gears, 3 1/2 times shoot the old owner for putting in 3.55s, 3 3/4 times 3.73s. Get what Im saying.

Got it. Is there any way to tell just by driving, or no?

Or just check the Diff cover for the axle tag. Normally people don't take them off unless they've had to be in the rear.
