water in the engine bay in most cases isn't that big of a deal. next time you are near a place that does detailing, watch them clean an engine bay... and then fire up the car right after with no problems.

I know water isn't going to destroy things if its there for a short time like a quick rinse after a de-grease.But if your car is parked in the rain and judging by the amount of water that pools in those "vents" on my hood and their position I would imagine a good amount of water is going to be pooling right in the COP and spark plug seats for at least 4 cylinders. Knowing how our cars are with blowing plugs I would think that that amount of water would be bad.

I have the Cervini Cobra R hood. The top of the hood goes a good4" over the vents. Even in an automatic car wash I don't get water on the engine.
