If i was you I would leave it stock for 6-12 months till you are used to the power of the V-8. That way when you start modding it you know how to control the power and you chances of wrecking it will be lower, But do what you want. I would go with gears (3.73 or 4.10) your choice, then full exhaust. Good luck, and be careful with your new car.

i think he should get the gears first so he doesn't get used to stock and have to get used to new ones later. switching gears takes some getting used to. might as well do them early on.

Eh, I love how everyone assumes teenagers are going wreck their shiz...

Although, it doesn't help when you're not the one paying for it. Do appearance mods now, then when you can 'handle the power' start doing performance mods.

Next year im getting a 2004 mustang Mach1, How does age have anything to do with it, i have seen 45 year old guys wreck the mustangs, It all comes down to your maturety. There this 34 year old guys down the block from me with a 2004 Saleen and has to change the tires every 8 months, Dont doubt us youngsters, And i saved 12,000 of the car myslef.

i was just saying it must be nice for mommy and daddy to buy you a brand new car. my parents wouldn't do that. i had to buy my first mustang GT. i'm sure there'll be people replying about 16 years old saying they pay for theirs. i don't know, nor do any of my friends know anyone who's 16 that has a job that makes enough to pay for a brand new mustang + insurance. insurance companies aren't very nice to young kids with v8 sports cars.

i still say to get gears though!

Congrats man. I cant wait till I get my first GT. I just turned 18 this past sunday. My first car was an '87 4cyl Mustang then I drove my brothers '98 V6 Mustang for about 2 months then i got my '00 V6 Mustang and I love modding that thing but for you, I would keep it stock for if not a year atleast 6 months. Its going to be very powerful for your first car. Take care of it.
