Default Stock gears to 3.73 or 4.10

thinking about changing gears. What are most people paying (labor) to have these changed out? The only cons I've heard of on this are a little less fuel mileage and having to recalibrate the speedo somehow. How hard is it to calibrate the speedo with the proper piece of equipment...I think someone sells it for about $90? My car is stock, 75K miles in exc. condition, I drive 3K miles per year basically in town driving.I don't race, Idon't give a damn about my top speed, I just figured changing gears would give it a little more in the fun-to-drive area. 3.73 or 4.10? What should I know? will i notice a substantial difference in how the car drives? gracias

If you have a 99-04 its not a gear, you need a tuner to recalibrate the speedo.

I have 4.10s. Love them.

If your car's year is a 1999 or above, then you need a tuner or speedo adjuster to adjust the speedometer. 98 and below just requires a little gear.

I am sure someone will disagree, but I would go with 3.73. I was going to and changed my mind and went with 4.10's. The problem with 4.10's is you run out of first gear so fast. Maybe 3.73's would be the same. I can't say. You will definitely feel better pickup regardless of which gear you get. Also, if you are ever up on the highway in 5th, you will feel the difference if you hit the gas. Most shops will charge you 4-5 hour labor to do this. I know it doesn't take that long to swap them out, but thats what they will tell you. As far as a tuner, I believe you can buy one just for speedo calibrations which is a lot cheaper than getting a full function tuner which can run around 350-400.00. Whoever you get, make sure they are good. Gears not put in the right way will cause you grief down the road. Good luck.
