Default need help with heater fan

hey i have 97 gt and no matter what setting it is on it blows out of the defrost even if it is on ac or vent

Sounds like your flapper valve thatdiverts air to the vents and the floor isstuck or broken.

Is that the technical term? Ha ha... Your blend doors are broke or binded. Replacing them is a lot of work. You have to pull the dash on most cars. I've never done them on a Stang,though. I'm sure someone will chime in if they have.

I think that it is controlled by vacume air pressure. You can remove the control panel on the dash and the vacume lines are on the back of the selector switch. Maybe you lost the vacume feed to this control ****. If it is the flapper door then it will be a tough repair.

so that mean i have a vaccum leak would that explain why it takes a long time to rev down for example when you give it a little gas it take a real long time to rev down

Yes, look under the hood where the ac lines go into the firewall. There is one little black vacume line that goes into the firewall there that provides the vacume for the ac controls. It's bad about getting brittle and breaking.
