performance wise-no. you do the catback for sound.. and the little gain you get from it is an added bonus.

I think it would be alright if you got just mufflers and tips aslong as you got a new midpipe. I have 1 chambered Flows and an o/r h-pipe on my 01 GT and I have some Flowmaster mufflers with an o/r x-pipe on my 05 GT. The only catback I would buy would be the Borla Stingers or SLP Loudmouths. Performance isnt really a factor unless you get a midpipe then you will get alittle more power, but the catback to me is just for looks.

i just got flowmaster super 44 mufflers and 3.5 tips and i love the sound im going to add a off road h-pipe or prochamber this spring but i came out cheaper with just a muffler change and adding tips $120.00 for both mufflers and $40.00 for tips installed free

The main benefit of a catback is the mandrel bent tubing allows the exhaust to flow more freely and help a tad with scavenging. Tips really don't do anything, I've heard of baffled tips changing the sound a bit but I don't know about it. You really won't see much of a benefit till you start moving more air through your engine, with either an h/c/i setup or a f/i setup. Also if your gonna get a catback, I would recommend a better midpipe since the restriction to your airflow/exhaust will be before your catbacks. I do wonder tho if it helps with the scavenging effect.

i dont think anyones mentioned this but the stock catbacks on our cars are 2.25", aftermarkets are 2.5" tubing. its not worth buying for performance as stated, 500+ for a few HP is a terrible deal. sound is the biggest thing youll get

i just want to know if there is any noticable gains by using a o/r h-pipe i ask because on this forum it seems like any after market part you ask for opinion on its a waste of money but everyone that post has full bolt on or s/c and gears i would think any up grade bolt on or not will change the performance of a stock engine im not saying a major gain but you will gain something because if not everyone thats on this forum is getting taken by all these after market companys i want to here some feed back on this i know theres alot of you that understand what im getting at
