Yeah that might be it, Ihavent takenthe mustang out that much recently but i noticed this morning that it was doing it. maybe it s just because i had it sat for a week and the batt needed charging? On the other hand the car is nearly 7 years old with bout 75k on it maybe a new batt might be due?

The only time mine has ever done that, without me holding the odometer button on startup, was when I wanted to try that thing that shuts off your fuel rails (press the gas down all the way and crank it). I did it for a while and then they did the sweeping thing but it does make sense that it would be the battery.

I appreciate all the help guys, recon i will check the battery. Im not exactly in the money right now! do you think a cheap autozone type batt will be ok?

Mines done that also. It does that when it looses all power for a split second. Mine was the battery but it could also be the battery cable ends or the battery cables.

Mine started that last Monday and by Friday I had to replace the battery because I had nothing left on the old battery. Better get a new one before you get stranded.
