vortech or procharger on stock 4.6
I have a 2002 GT almost stock( cai, 3.73, mid-pipe and cat-back) with 38000 miles. Im looking for a 375-400hp daily driver. Ive looked at 3 sc (KB, Vortech and Pro-charger). I finally decided to go with a centrifugal since I dont want to be always in boost in the traffic with a KB. Now in terms of power both vortech and Pro-charger are the same on stock enginewith 8-9psi . Which one is the most reliable? and which one is the loudest. thanks for your help

regardless of the brand your going to be limited to 8-10 lbs of boost..so really its how much do you want to spend? IMO get a mongoose kit from MPH for 4gs best kit arond

^why would you have only done procharger? For the money you spend on a procharger kit you can get a vortech mongoose and an intercooler, that would be your best bet

In fact, one of my buddies has a fully built shortblock, stroked out, blower cams and everything else I dont feel like mentioning, with a procharger and he said he'll never go back to KB. His car has around 500rwhp, but I dunno.
I'm still personally stuck on that loud whining noise from the KB. I guess I'm "in that phase" haha

im happy with my vortech....i like not having to change my engine oil then my blower oil....plus it was cheaper.....that is the first time i have ever heard of anybody with a KB or having had a KB and saying that they didnt like it....i cant believe it!!!! where were you when the whole centri vs twin screw threads went down?

I have a procharger but vortech is good too . I have read a few places that the oil in the p1sc stays cooler than the engine oil , not sure about that though . Plus I didn't want to punch a hole in my oil pan .

if thats true then why do prochargers have to have intercoolers.....engine oil will always be cooler. now they may be cooler than a vortech non i/c if the procharger is i/c.
