If you'd spend that kind of money on cams why wouldnt you do exhaust? just wondering
+1. What do you have against an exhaust? That's usually everyone's first mod. Not all of them are loud.

Yea I dont want a loud exhuast. But I thought all exhausts that give the best performance are the louder free flowing ones?

What muffler do you recommend that will stay close to stock noise but give me great gains

no mufflers are going to give you great gains. maybe 1-2rwhp at most. if you want to stay quiet and open up the exhaust a little bit get a high flow catted midpipe. youll see bigger gains as compared to a catback.

A catted midpipe would run me alot of money. Would I not see better gains from say the aftermarket plenum, 75mm TB and a CAI?

If you think you're going to get great gains on anything cheap, you bought the wrong car. It's gonna take a lot of bolt-ons or a supercharger to get good gains. Gears would be the cheapest, most noticeable mod though.

You will see gains from all of those things as a combo, but your original post was just about a plenum.

The plenum is a supporting mod of the CAI and the throttle body.. They all support each other.
So yes, thats a good combo.

What brand CAI, TB and Plenum do you guys recommend?

Im not looking to make this thing a 12 second car, I would just like to get 20-30rwhp more, you think those 3 mods will get me close to that?

If you are just looking for an edge over the other stock GT's running around, pick up some gears. Whereas they won't actually give you any HP gain, it will feel and give you the performance like 40-50 rwhp would.

As far as the CAI, I'd go JLT or bust. Otherwise just toss in a K&N filter and remove the air silencer. The TB and Plenum doesn't really matter on the brand...base the brand on price, and be sure to get a 75 mm TB as opposed to a 70 mm.

The intake mods, plus a tune might get you 20-25 rwhp. Really though, I'd do gears beforehand. You won't be dissappointed.

if you have money for cams or whatever u said why dont u do a Bassani Catback not to loud just right plus throw away thost sucky stock Tips and stand out from the 19 year old girl next door that her parent bought her a new GT. Just go for it, but i will tell you BBK 75MM and a C&L Pleanum Work Great on my 01 GT! Dont be arfaid to mod thats where the fun begins!

Thanks for the info

How much weight would I have to lose off the car to notice anything? Im only 115lbs so I have an advantage over the fat chicks

I can get some cams cheap so thats why I asked if I could just swap some in without any other modifications. Just pull cam out and put new ones in?
