Default thermo gasket problem.

Coolant keeps spraying out from my thermostat, I replaced the gasket again and its still happening. It seems to be a pressure thing, the pressure at the thero seems extremely high. I need to get the stang back on the road today, any advice or feedback would be appeciated. Thanks!

Default RE: thermo gasket problem.

Seems basic, but:
A) Is the thermostat facing the right way? (pointy end pointing into your upper radiator hose, main body facing block)
B) did you use gasket sealer?
C) Did you let the sealer dry before adding coolant?
D) What did you torque the bolts at?
E) Could have a cracked thermostat housing

Just some thoughts....

i didnt find any cracks in the housing, but i didnt have gasket sealer around it either. so yesterday i sealed it and the leak stopped. not sure how long that will last though, but that seemed to do the trick for the short run. i didnt use a torque wrench, just a ratchet.
