1996 Ford Mustang Cobra Car $0.00 - $4,999.99
I'm selling a '96 Mustang Cobra. It has the 4.6l DOHC V8 and a 5spd.It has a blown head gasket. Everything else works perfectly.I love the car and would not sell it but I cannot afford to put it back together. It has 4.10 gears, offroad H-pipe,and a UPR shifter. It has very minor damage to the left quarter,no rims and tires, and 156k miles.A/C,PS,PB,PW,PL,& remote entry all work well. And for an extra $1,500 a beautiful set of Budnik billet wheels (17x8,17x10.5).Call ###-$%^-*&@# and make offer.

yep, no rims or tires. emailed him, he only wants $3000 for the car. I've got my original bullits and tires in my closet. . . . . trying to get a judge on how much a repair job on the head gasket would be. So, for $3000, what do you think? i can probably chew him down to $2500

156k miles is a little steep too, you gotta wonder what kind of shape the transmission is in too. You'd end up spending a lot of cash for the tires/rims along with repairs to the head gasket as well. I dunno, I wouldn't do it.

well, i've already got rims and tires in my closet, thats not a problem. I'm looking for something i can put together on a part by part basis, while still having my 2004 gt. I'm thinking 2500 for the car, i've got rims to put on it. new set of sean hyland heads. mild cam. ... i'm not looking for a daily driver just yet, just a fun car. $2500 for a starting fun car doesn't seem too bad. Keep in mind, i've already got the daily driver car.

That's true, are you going to be installing all the parts yourself? That's what I'd do. Have myself a project car.

i'm a little underknowledged to be doing it myself, but i'd love to have someone working with me to do it. Great thing to do on the weekends.
I'd like to have a low 12 sec all motor car out of it with just a little elbow grease and money put into it. . . heh, who wouldn't?

GodMagnus,

I'd suggest getting a knowledgable friend, or paying a knowledgeable mechanic, to take a good look at the car. The fact that the head gasket is blown means you can't run the car to see what else might be wrong with it (or have a leak down or compression test performed on it. My guess is he's run the crap out of it as well. When I decided to mod my 98 cobra it had 87,000 miles on it. The leak-down rate was around 65-70%! Without redoing the small block all the mods in the world would not have helped the car and would've actually hurt it more!

You could get into a money pit situation if you don't have it looked at by an expert. If the guy doesn't like that idea, move on!

Good luck!

Agreed. If he can't afford to put it back together, which he states there... I bet there's a lot more wrong with it than some cosmetic issues on that body and a few here and there things. I think there's a lot more that he's not saying, but if you feel like it's a good deal when you see the car, well... go for it then!!

Kubbal-- nice ride!
