Default will check engine light go off?

i have previously posted about a posibly bad camshaft posistion sensor, i have found out how to test it and i wanted to know if i started the engine with the sensor disconnected if a check engine light will come on and if it will turn off when i reconnect the sensor.

Thanks

It shouldn't come on if you just crank it and then hook it back up... Yes it will go off when you re-connect it, might take it a little while but it will go off when it realizes that the sensor is back on. If not, just disconnect your battery for about 30 minutes and it will reset.

It will turn off, but it'll take a few power cycles and it'll still be stored.

Just pull the battery cable off for a minute or two.
