Default grinding and popping noise coming from rear end?

I recently bought an 01 bullitt and starting yesterday i noticed a grinding/ popping noise coming from my rear end more when im turning at a stop sign than taking off straight. I got down and looked under the car and saw diff. fluid all over the back quarter of the car. I think it could be the pinion seal but im not positive.. anyone have any ideas/advice???

Go get some gear oil additive. It costs like 5 bucks at Wally World or any auto parts store. Once you put it in, do some figure 8s in a parking lot and see if that alleviates the problem. I had the same thing happen to me after I changed my rear gears and that fixed it. If your having the same problem I had, it's just the discs in the rear binding. Mine had that same popping and grinding.

Just realized you're leaking oil (I halfass read stuff). Replace your pinion seal and diff cover gasket and then replace oil and use additive. You probably don't have any oil at all left if it's making noise. Don't drive it until you get some oil back in there!

+1,000,000 !!! If you don't see oil at the brake backing plates, and only on the pumpkin, then it's the pinion seal...
