Default Idle low and poppy, and replaced all I can think of!!! NEED HELP!!!

Hey all I recently purchased a 96 Mustang gt with 55,000 Miles on it, and since I bought it i've added a CAI, O/R X-Pipe, it came with weld in Flows, and Mil eliminators. So heres the deal after installing the x-pipe I noticed at idle it seems to struggle a little, but not stall. It pops like it's missing on and off(It's not steady, but constant), replaced IAC Valve, it threw a code for the Idle air temp sensor which I replaced, replaced plugs, cleaned MAF, TPS valve, and it idles more normal when the ac is on, but still pops, and when I stop at a light the idle jumps between about 700-900rpm for a few jumps then evens out, but if I turn the ac off it still does it accept the idle gets low and struggly. However it runs great, and doesnt pop when it's driving. Is it possible pullys were installed by a previous owner, and it's causing timing issues? Or maybe it's lack of a good tune? I'm hoping someone has had a similar experience, but I hope a dyno-tune will help. If need be i'l post a vid if you need to hear.

Thanks all,
Matt

With just those mods you shouldn't need a tune. Since you've added those things, have you unhooked your battery for a few min and let the computer reset itself? Not sure if that'll help but it's one more thing to try.

I use to have the exact same problem as you, when my 96 GT had BBK CAI, Pulleys, Bassani X-Pipe, BBK long tubes..mine would sometimes even drop to 200rpms and basically stall but then start it over again, I have SCT tuning in my car and had it during this problem hooked it up to the SCT LiveLink software and as soon as i gave it a little more gas it fixed the problem, so what i would recomend is getting a tuner and tuning your car and making it 2.0% rich..should solve your problem

200 RPM's? Your car would staul.

And to the OP, it had a code for an idle air temp? What's that? Do you mean the intake air temp sensor? Is that what you replaced? It's a little sensor that's in your air horn right after your MAF.

Yeah thats what I meant sorry Intake Air Temp Sensor it said high voltage on the diagnostic. I tried to disconnect the bat for 30 mins, but it didnt work. What exactly can you do with an SCT Tuner? I'm not very familiar with flash tuners.

Thanks for all the help everyone,
Matt

my car is doing the same thing since i put on my X-pipe. when i take it out of gear rpms will drop to like 4-500 for a few seconds then pop back up to normal. happens more on cold days. im pretty sure mines running slighty lean as well. i just dont got the $$ for a tuner right now lol

I think mines running rich though, because when I shut the car off the exhaust smells strong of gas, and it did it before I installed the x-pipe. Same here I can't dish the dollars untill after christmas. I'm just glad to hear someone else has had similar probs it's not really a bad prob it just kills the gas milage. Does anyone know how to test fuel injectors?

I have the same problem, I have replaced IAC, Mass air flow sensor, TPS, andhad the fuel injectors checked and it has been to two shops and we still can't find the prblem. It started after i had headers put on it. Fuel is also very strong when its running.
