ok i have the 4.6....and i've been looking on the net and i found a couple bigger motors i was interested in....5.8L/351 - 392CID SMALL BLOCK 430HP GT-40 HEAD FORD RACING PERFORMANCE CRATE ENGINE ASSEMBLY....i think thats the biggest you can go on pump gas....with 430 hp and the motor costs about 8k....i could then add a blower or something?what would i have to do to put that motor in my car....i know its carbed so the wiring would have to go...but what about everything else?.....and i could sale my 4.6 cuz it only has 64k on it and pullys with that....
This swap is pretty easy. You need Kmember, return style fuel system, tranny, driveshaft, exhaustand just remove the engine harness. You will need to keep the computer and the chasie harness inthe car. Carbed is the easiest way to go. I don't know where you got that engine info from but for $8k I could build to engines just like that. You can get a 351w out of any junkyard for $150 and have it cleaned, bored and honed for around $100. The stroker kit is less than $1000 the GT-40 heads can be bought at auto zone for $300. You can find the money for a pushrod ford intake in the cusions of your couch.

You can go way bigger then that on pump gas.

If he has a 96 gt he already has a returnable fuel system. I'm not 100% sure on this but his in tank fuel pump is going to put out a lot more fuel pressure then a carb set up is going to want. I'm guessing he may have to do something to reduce the fuel pressure.

When you get ready to sale your 4.6 let me know what your asking and where your at. I have a 96 GT rag topwith a broken heart and at 66 I don't have a need for speed.
